ごあいさつ
中嶋一雄は、1934年熊本市に生まれ、7歳の時に父と死別、その後、大空襲で家を失いました。長男として幼い頃から家族を支え、やがて上京、彫刻一筋に邁進して参りました。
この作品集は、日本画廊に於いて８回目の個展を企画していただいたのを機に、家族の手により制作いたしました。
I）彫刻作品は、2026年日本画廊企画個展の出品作を中心に、II）モニュメント、III）胸像・レリーフは、本人が制作したブックの写真から抜粋しました。IV）アトリエは、1975年に中嶋一雄が念願叶って構えた創作の場であり、思索、制作し、常に樟の香りに包まれていた空間の、現在の姿を家族が撮影したものです。
日本画廊の竹本克子様、スタッフの皆様、そして長きにわたり、中嶋一雄を支えてくださった多くの方々に、心より御礼申し上げます。

Foreword
Kazuo Nakajima was born in Kumamoto City in 1934. He lost his father at the age of seven and later lost
his home in a massive air raid.
As the eldest son, he supported his family from a young age, and later moved to Tokyo and devoted himself to
sculpture.
This collection was produced by his family. I) Works: works to be shown at his 2026 solo
show at Gallery Nippon.
II) Monuments and III) Busts and Reliefs: his family selected photos from his photo books of his own
photographs.
IV) Atelier: photos of his present-day atelier taken by his family, filled with the aroma of
camphorwood,
a space of constant contemplation and sculpture creation.

owner of Gallery Nippon, as well as the staff and all those who have supported him over the
years.
